DIY Balloon Garland Tutorial

STEP 1.

PREPARE YOUR KIT TO GET STARTED

To create a balloon garland at home you’ll need:

A good quality pump (trust us, it will save so much time).

Choose your method using a decorating strip to connect the balloons together or the Band method following the video tutorial.

STEP 2.

INFLATE & TIE ALL OF YOUR BALLOONS

Inflate and tie all of your balloons using the dual-action balloon pump or electric pump.

Our pumps inflate balloons twice as fast as a regular balloon pump, you'll notice the difference.

STEP 3.

DECIDE HOW YOU'LL ARRANGE THE BALLOONS

There are no rules here - you can either follow the garland look from our website or create your own placement of colours.

We love colour blocking - In balloon decorating, colour blocking means arranging balloons of the same colour in solid blocks or sections, rather than mixing them randomly. This creates a visually distinct look, where each colour stands out as a cohesive unit.

We recommend using the jumbo balloons as the base of your garland.

Using temporary hooks or clips you can place the garland in your desired location to party! Alternatively, you can secure to your window frame or hire a stand. We do recommend keeping the garland out of direct sunlight.

STEP 4.

ATTACH BALLOONS TO THE DECORATING STRIP

This is the fun bit! Leave a little space at the end of your decorating strip and simply pinch the lip of the balloon and pull it through the hole to secure it in place. Alternate attaching the balloons on either side of the decorating strip and you can skip a hole in the strip if it becomes too tight.

STEP 5.

ATTACHING BALLOONS BAND METHOD

We provide step by step guide and a video tutorial you’ll be a pro in no time!

STEP 6.

USE THE MINI BALLOONS TO FILL THE GAPS

Using the mini balloons, you pumped earlier the band method, or the glue dots included in your kit, fill any gaps in the garland. This creates the ultimate styled look and feel with a variety of balloon sizes and colours.

WHY WE OFFER TWO METHODS

We want our customers to have fun when building their garland and be comfortable with the experience so you can choose a method that’s suits you.
